Laura Molzahn has written about Chicago dance since 1987 for the Chicago Reader, Dance Magazine, and recently the Chicago Tribune. She’s received two Peter Lisagor Awards, one in 1990 for a feature on Twyla Tharp and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, the other in 1999 for her performance and dance criticism. An amateur dancer since 1979, she’s taken classes in many forms, currently hip-hop and African dance. She has a PhD in English from Northwestern University and was the performing and visual arts editor at the Reader for 22 years.

Boulder, Colorado native Zachary Whittenburg entered the dance scene as a performer, joining Seattle’s Pacific Northwest Ballet in 1998. His dancing career later brought him to North Carolina Dance Theater, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance in Asheville, NC, and BJM Danse Montréal. More recently he has freelanced in Chicago with Lucky Plush Productions, Same Planet Different World Dance, and Molly Shanahan/Mad Shak. Zachary is also a choreographer and teaches ballet for professional dancers for numerous companies. Since 2005 he has been covering dance for international online magazine Flavorpill, the Windy City Times, SeeChicagoDance and his own site, trailerpilot.com.
